The
148th Annual Festival and 81st Reunion of the Scott County Iowa
Pioneer Settlers' Association will be held Saturday, September 10,
2005, at the Le Claire Fire Station's Community Room at 201 14th
Street Le Claire, Iowa. Festivities begin with a reception and meeting
at 10:30 a.m., followed by a pot luck buffet luncheon and program.
Annual
Membership fee is $2 to be paid at the door. Membership is limited
to the Descendants, and their spouses, of those who settled in Scott
County, Iowa on or before December 31, 1846. Anyone showing proper
lineage and payment of dues shall become a Scott County Iowa Pioneer
Settler's Association member.
Many
Scott County, Iowa pioneers where members of the original Scott
County Iowa Pioneer Settlers' Association. It is recorded that our
own townsman, Philip Suiter walked from Le Claire Township to Davenport,
Iowa to attend one of many meetings. If you have other pioneer settlers
you are related to in Scott County the board would be very grateful
for you to contact us at board@iowapioneersettlers.org to become
a member.

Speakers Featured: NEIL DAHLSTROM and JEREMY DAHLSTROM will
be at the annual meeting to talk about "Researching John Deere."
And, although his new book, The John Deere Story is available now,
he'll be bringing a supply along for people who would like to have
him personally autograph one for them. And for those who have already
acquired the book by then, bring it along for Neil to autograph.
